ORTLIEB-Warranty

The ORTLIEB warranty, limited to five years, is a voluntary warranty provided by the manufacturer. It grants additional rights independent of the rights granted by consumer protection laws. Should a product be replaced within the warranty period, the date of first delivery continues to apply to the five-year warranty period.

This worldwide, free of charge warranty of five years from delivery refers to material defects and processing errors. Scuff marks, holes and cracks caused by the customer's own fault are not covered by the warranty. Claims for defects due to normal wear and tear, improper use, non-observance of the assembly instructions, third-party intervention as well as due to improper storage are excluded. No warranty is given for damage due to improper care and improper use. As a rule, however, such damage can be repaired at cost price.

Consumer Protection Law

Important: The provisions of the ORTLIEB warranty, which is limited to five years, do not apply to claims arising from statutory consumer protection rights. These statutory rights are not limited by the warranty. Thus, the benefits under the five-year limited ORTLIEB warranty are intended to supplement and not replace the rights granted by consumer protection laws.

If a product is defective, consumers may in particular claim the rights under §§ 434 et seq., §§ 474 et seq. of the German BGB (German Civil Code). Consumers can choose whether to claim performance under the ORTLIEB warranty, which is limited to five years, or under their statutory consumer protection rights.

The first point of contact for warranty claims is always the specialist or online dealer with whom the purchase contract for the product was concluded. This warranty is subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

An excellent solution for cyclists who are on the road year-round or have to deal with bad weather and low visibility conditions is the ORTLIEB High-Vis Line. The material used in High-Vis products significantly enhances the cyclist's visibility for other road users. The bags are not only equipped with reflectors; they are designed like a large reflector themselves. The PU-coated and waterproof Cordura fabric is completely woven with high-visibility reflective yarn, making the High-Vis bags a bright safety measure when exposed to light. With the Quick-Lock system, the Sport-Roller can be attached and removed from the bicycle in seconds. Due to its size, it can be mounted on both front and rear luggage racks and is excellent as a bicycle bag for children’s and youth bikes. The practical roll closure can be sealed upwards or tensioned downwards using the shoulder carrying strap and redirection hook. The latter keeps the shoulder carrying strap readily accessible so that you can easily transport your bag directly after removing it from the bicycle.

The 16 mm hooks can be adjusted to 8, 10 and 12 mm using the included reducer inserts. With the QL2.1 hooks and anchoring hooks, 18 or 20 mm tubes can also be used.

The QL3.1 Mounting Set can be attached to racks with a tube diameter of up to 16 mm. For tube diameters from 11 to 16 mm, the adapter clamps are also required.

The hooks can be adjusted tool-free between 10 and 16 mm in 1 mm increments. With the QL2.1 hooks, 18 or 20 mm tubes can also be used.

What is the difference between Back-Roller and Sport-Roller?

Both models are waterproof, robust and equipped with the Quick-Lock system.
The Back-Roller is designed for the rear luggage rack and offers plenty of storage space with 20 liters per bag for longer tours or everyday use.
The Sport-Roller is more compact, holds 14.5 liters and is ideal as a front bag on a lowrider or for smaller bicycles.

What is the difference between the Sport-Roller and the Sport-Packer?

Both models are waterproof, robust, and equipped with the proven ORTLIEB mounting system. They are also ideal as front panniers on a lowrider or for smaller bicycles.

The Sport-Roller is the compact version of the classic ORTLIEB panniers with a roll closure. It offers maximum packing flexibility, can be compressed variably, and is ideal for everyday use and tours with changing loads.
The Sport-Packer, on the other hand, has a flap lid closure. This allows the storage space to be loaded particularly securely, and additional items can be attached on top. This makes it perfect for longer bike trips or structured packing.

Can the Sport-Roller High-Vis be locked securely to the bike?

That depends on the mounting system used. Our Quick-Lock2.1 and Quick-Lock2.2 bags can be secured directly to the luggage rack using the optional QL2-Lock. The lock is attached to the upper rail of the mounting system and reliably secures the bag to the bike. However, the bag itself is not locked.

With Quick-Lock3.1, locking the bag is not possible.

Does the Sport-Roller High-Vis fit my luggage rack?

ORTLIEB bags with the Quick-Lock mounting system are compatible with almost all luggage racks. The Quick-Lock2.1 and Quick-Lock2.2 systems fit racks with tube diameters from 8 mm to 16 mm. Bags with Quick-Lock3.1 require special attachment points on the luggage rack, which can easily be retrofitted using a mounting kit if necessary.
